I'm not really sure where the week goes! Well, it was a good week, even if the scale doesn't say so.
I was able to get up and do my workout every morning. I stuck with P90X, except for Thursday, where I substituted the P90X yoga for a 3 mile walk. The Yoga workout takes 90 minutes and I didn't have that type of time.
I also checked out a Zumba class on Wednesday evening, that I simply loved! I am going back tomorrow.
I ate very well. The first few days I was famished - seems to be the case whenever I first start the P90X routine. I was able to get to the right eating so that I was feeling satisfied, but not going too far beyond my daily Points allowance within a couple of days. Of course, I was earning activity Points each day, so it was fine for me to eat a little beyond.
I know that within a few days, the scale will catch up. In the meantime, I will continue to be active and to eat healthy. The most important thing is being healthy...the scale is just one measure, not the be all end all.

Sunday
Sunday was a good day. Most of my exercise came in the form of housework. I was up and down the stairs several times, trying to get things back into their correct locations. I could have collected things and reduced the number of trips, but that would have been a challenge to my touch it once approach and wouldn't have given me nearly as much exercise.
Eating was okay. I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast. A banana mid-morning. A sandwich for lunch. Dinner was my version of Skyline Chili, some watermelon, some carrots and a couple of cookies (couldn't resist). I tried to stick with water for drinking, but a headache encouraged me to have some Dr. Pepper Cherry and the flavor encouraged a second glass.
Monday morning marked the official restart of P90X. I unfortunately am back at having 26# to go (but some of that could be hold over from a night out Saturday including chips, salsa, margarita and fajitas (only ate a little rice, the meat and vegetables - skipped the tortillas).

a few weeks...
I have been so uninspired lately. I have been eating reasonably okay, but have been only partially committed to tracking, which I know allows me to go beyond what I plan to. I have been struggling since the time change to get up early enough to work out every morning. I have definite goals and targets in mind and I need to be focused to get there. I was talking to a coworker that also did P90X and they had some great success with the program. It is inspiring me to get back on track and restart the program. I will not be done with it in time for my first trip, but hopefully, even if I only get part way to my weight goal, it is still progress.

Sunday
I had really good intentions on Sunday, and well, then they just seemed to fall apart!
I started my day with a normal bowl of cereal and some milk. I started my lunch with a taco salad, but then I picked at chips. And then, I had birthday cake and ice cream. I shouldn't have eaten the cake, there was something I didn't care for in the flavor (an orange or similar note in the chocolate) and yet I still ate it. Things like that frustrate me.
Then, we headed to Bible Study and again, I had chips this time with nacho cheese! Ugghhhh, why do I do this. I burned a lot of Points (haven't actually attempted to estimate yet) and I feel blah as a result of eating too much of food that my body is no longer used to. I should know better.
But, alas, Monday is a new day and I will start fresh, putting Sunday behind me and making sure that I manage my food intake better and not allow myself to be discourage by Sunday.

Saturday
I was definitely feeling great when I woke up on Saturday morning and the scale was being kind. I had again lost a little bit of weight, which made me smile. I knew though that I was in for a rough day, with more than normal eating (two days in a row actually - as Sunday we have a birthday party and a Bible Study group too). My brother's family was coming over for a visit. My sister-in-law and I were taking the girls to a ballet and then we were going out for dinner afterwards, followed by hanging out.
Breakfast and lunch were actually pretty normal, aside from the fact that I couldn't resist the last of the S'mores bars sitting on my counter. Dinner we decided to head to the Japanese steak house. It is so hard to estimate the Points for those meals. I found a 'menu' for Benihana NY online that had calorie information for a full meal and based on that, I feel like my estimate (I even added butter to the ingredients just to capture the extra unknown) of just over 20 Points is about right. The good news is that I had plenty of weekly Points remaining, even after consuming dinner, so if I underestimated slightly, I think I am still okay. In the evening, we were all full, so it was just a glass of red wine while we hung out at the house.
The scale reflected the indulgence when I checked Sunday morning, but it wasn't too bad. I'm hopeful that if I can reign it in on Sunday, that I should be right back on course.

Recently...
Again, best laid plans and all, I haven't been very active. I was starting to get to the point where I was wondering why my body was having essentially no response to the managed eating and the increased activity. I would be down 1/2 a pound and then back up. I never seemed to be actually getting anywhere. I decided that if nothing happened over the next two weeks, it might be time to see a doctor to make sure that there wasn't something going on.
So, I was very glad when this morning I was down a good amount. I think that perhaps my body was slow to respond, but finally it reacted all at once. Now, because I'm me, I'm not done worrying, but at least I am less worried.
It was so beautiful out on Wednesday. I headed outside at lunch for a 2.75 mile walk. When it is consistently nice, it will be a great boost to my routine to fit in that additional exercise at lunch.
I have been doing okay working out in the morning. Today, my son surprised me with a need to take cookies to school, so I had to bypass exercise to bake. I am hopeful it is not raining at lunch time and I might fit in some bit of a walk, if not a full 2.75 mile loop.
Eating has been going really well. I'm getting to the point where I'm feeling full with what I eat and not wanting to snack in between, although, I generally plan for an orange or apple or other snack between meals - it helps me from being too hungry at meal time.

where do the days go??
Seriously, it's been that long since I posted? I'm really good at this daily log thing!
Well, let's see.
Thursday was a reasonably good day. I started my day with a Walk At Home workout. I made some great food swaps on Thursday that saved some serious Points. At lunch, I moved my sandwich from a pretzel roll (yummy) to a Deli Thin. The flavor that I was after was coming from the turkey, cheese, red pepper and banana peppers anyway - so having less bread actually made those flavors shine through. And, because they toast the sandwich, the bread had a nice little bite to it too. The trade off - 7 Points for the Pretzel Roll, 2 Points for the Deli Thin. Know how much 'food' you can eat with 5 extra Points? Another swap that I made was moving from creamer (I ran out) to Vanilla Coconut Milk. I was able to use 1/2 cup in my coffee and it was the same Points as the creamer, but with the added volume, I got a much lighter cup of coffee and a great flavor. We also tried a yummy new recipe at dinner that a satisfying serving of was only 7 Points. It was Creamy Chicken Florentine (I'll have to remember to post the recipe on my recipe blog). What was even more satisfying was using leftover roast chicken and having the prep time be just about the time it takes to make a pot of pasta.
Friday another good day! I'm sensing a pattern. I started my day with a Walk At Home workout. I made the same morning swap on creamer for my coffee, enjoyed a PB&J, yogurt and fruit for lunch, a yummy salad with croutons and cheese and 'regular' dressing, and capped the evening with a drink with my husband. And, I did it all with just my Daily Points. Amazing!
Saturday started great - with the scale moving in the right direction again finally. I'm convinced that my body just takes time to recognize that I am eating right and being more active. When it drops, it drops. I was down over a pound since Friday morning. Saturday was spent with family. We had lunch out with my brother and his family and my parents. It was yummy, but the 'best' menu option was still 10 Points. I was just glad that I spent the drive to the restaurant calculating the options. What I thought was the healthier option was actually 14 Points and I would have been bummed to learn that after the fact. Then, we spent the afternoon and evening celebrating my niece's birthday. My sister-in-law's family joined us for the festivities. I enjoyed some wine, had bread with my dinner, a cupcake and ice cream. It was okay though, I still had over 20 Weekly Points that I was able to use on Saturday.
The thing is, when you use all of your Weekly Points at once, the scale takes a couple of days to return to 'normal'. Sunday morning was up slightly. Sunday was a good day. I enjoyed Doritos on the side of my cheeseburger and a glass of wine (most of it, because I dropped it accidentally) and still finished the day using only 3 of my weekly Points. Monday morning represented a partial return to where I was before cashing in my Weekly Points on Saturday.
I will persevere though. I know it works and I know that the swing is only temporary.

Tuesday/Wednesday
I was so excited on Wednesday morning, finally the scale was moving in the right direction and I was seeing some results. It certainly is motivating when you are trying to lose weight when you actually succeed at losing weight.
Tuesday was a pretty good day. I fit in two of the nine minute miles from the Walk At Home DVDs. It felt good and I loved that I was able to get it all done in about 20 minutes. Eating was mostly okay. I was tempted by a cupcake and gave in, at least it was a mini! I tried a new recipe at dinner and it was 10 Points for a serving. I finished my day at 28 Points (26 Daily + 2 Weekly).
Wednesday was an okay day. I walked three of the nine minute miles from the Walk At Home DVDs. I almost skipped the third one in the interest of time, but decided that going 1 minute over my schedule was not the end of the world. It has been so nice out...too bad that it has been windy and rainy, it would have been great to get outside to walk/run. I had lunch plans, so I didn't pack. I had a whopping 16 Points at lunch! Crazy. I didn't think it would be that much. It was a turkey sandwich on a pretzel roll with a side of celery and hummus and a bag of baked chips. I think I need to see if I can confirm the nutrition for the pretzel roll, it was 7 Points - I'm just not sure it was as 'big' as the one I located on line to estimate nutritionals. I made dinner a little lighter as a result. I had Sweet Potato Pierogie and one Turkey Sausage Link. It was tasty and at only 7 Points total, felt reasonable. I finished my day at 31 Points (26 Daily and 5 Weekly).
