Monday was a great day! I started my morning with a walk. If only my son had come down and cranked and moaned during the last five minutes, it might have been a fully enjoyable workout. It felt great to get up and move. I still can't figure out why I would skip it for so long as I did. It still amazes me how one small interruption in routine and can kill a routine.
Eating was mostly good. There was a work lunch again, but it was a taco bar, so I was able to fill my plate with lettuce and tomatoes. I used a bit of cheese and built it on top of one soft taco shell, which I ate once I got to the bottom of the salad. It was tasty and based on my estimates, even with a finish of angel food cake, the lunch was about 10 Points. Dinner was pizza, but the kids wanted bread sticks and I am a sucker for garlic dip, so it was about 12 Points for dinner.
I was surprised to find out that the Crispy Green snacks, which are just freeze-dried fruit, are 1 Point for a bag. I had hoped that it was 'just fruit', but evidently freeze-drying changes it enough that they don't count it as fruit.
I finished the day at 30 Points (26 + 4 weekly).

Wednesday
Well, I was successful again on Wednesday with getting up and working out. I chose the Leslie Sansone 4-Mile Super Walk on Wednesday. As it turns out, it took almost as long as the 5-Mile Fat Burning Walk. Normally I would say that the 5-Mile is a better option, because I am moving faster, but there is the band component which gives a bit of a resistance work out on alternating miles of the Super Walk. Either way, the point is that I got up and exercised. Again, I realized how good it feels to work out in the morning. It makes me feel better the whole day long.
I started to track again today. I wasn't on top of it completely, in that I ate and then tracked. Should remember to do it the other way, so I don't eat something expecting it to be less Points than it actually is. Overall, I did pretty well. I'm trying to have a protein shake/bar in the morning after my workout to fuel my body and the challenge to me is that these items seem to be about 5 Points each. When I look at a Daily Points target of 29, this is a good chunk. The good news is that I don't eat the oatmeal typically when I have the shake/bar, so net it is only about 2 more Points than I was having...and I am working out.
To round out breakfast, I also had a banana. Lunch was a peanut butter sandwich (it was Ash Wednesday and fish didn't sound good) and a yogurt. I snacked on some chocolate (3 Points). Dinner was pasta with Arrabiata sauce. The sauce is mostly tomatoes, so that helped. I capped my evening with a glass of wine (4 Points) and a small slice of Cream Cheese Pound Cake (4 Points). I finished with a total of 32 Points for the day.
I'm planning to do a more proactive tracking approach going forward.

lately...
After having a crazy cold last week that kept me from wanting to do much more than drink juice and sleep, I am feeling much better this week.
In fact, I am feeling very well this morning - for the first time in too long, I got up and worked out. I completed the Leslie Sansone 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. It was great. Now, I remember why I love to get my exercise in early. I feel energized and ready to face the day. It is also a great stress release.
Eating is mostly back on track. I made a pound cake the other day and have had a slice each day, but at only 130 calories, my guilt is not too deep. I haven't been tracking my food or Points lately, but am hoping to start that again soon.

Wednesday
It was a good day. Finally, I could breathe, even if I wasn't walking around.
Breakfast turned out to be a banana and a clementine, with coffee. I had a packet of oatmeal I had intended to eat, but with an 8:30, 9:30, 10:00 and 11:00 am meeting, there wasn't a chance to make it.
Lunch was tasty. Went with a 200 calorie DiGiorno pizza, a yogurt, and a clementine. It was very tasty - although the chicken noodle soup that a coworker had smelled amazing!
Dinner was 30 Minute Chicken - which wasn't fully thawed evidently and turned into 50 minute chicken. Bummer! It was tasty and moist, when it was finally done. We snacked on the leftover pineapple salsa from yesterday while we waited. It was tasty, although I didn't need the added calories of the chips.
I went to bed without medicine last night. I was able to breath the whole night. Maybe I really am getting past this cold.

Tuesday
I still had no appetite on Tuesday. I drank a lot of fluids again - including juice. This is good and bad. There are a lot of calories in juice, but I need to get beyond this cold. I need to be able to sleep well at night. I am hopeful that filling myself with the benefits of juice (and other fluids) will help me get past this cold. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of Points in juice and they don't 'fill' you up like food will.
So, on top of the juice, I ate more than I planned. I think it is that whole what satisifies me about food is the flavor and delivery on what I am looking for. So, when I can taste very little, there are things that I eat that just don't satisfy, so I tend to pick. I consumed a lot of fruits and vegetables (again - good source of vitamins), but I also had a sandwich with my salad at lunch - the salad had chicken and cheese on it already. Dinner was tasty and nutritious - Pineapple Salsa Chicken. It was fresh and vibrant. This was one flavor today that came through well.

Monday
Aside from the ability to breathe, Monday was a great day. I was so stuffy, all day long. It seemed that I found some relief when I was up and moving about, but you can't exactly spend the work day wandering around the place.
Unable to breathe, working out was not an option that I explored. I feel a need to be able to breathe easily when I exercise. I know that often times working out can help me get through a cold quicker, I didn't think this would apply in this case, since it had been a few weeks since I had a regular routine and was worried that I would find myself winded and make things worse rather than better. So, it was just my extra wander around so I could breathe routine for exercise on Monday.
Eating. Well, when I can't breathe, I don't have much of an appetite I learned. I was trying to stay hydrated and think that over 1/3 of my Points consumed were in the form of drinks.
Of course, with no scale, it is hard to gain perspective on what that meant.

the weekend
The good news is the weekend was much better than the past week. I was about 80% on tracking, doing much of it after eating, but at least I was back to tracking. This should be a huge help for me. I know that I simply do better when I keep track. Of course, entering the Points before I consume them is a great way to help me control my intake.
The bad news is that now I am fighting a head cold. I had hoped to get up and work out, but when you can't breath it really makes working out not an option. I'm hoping that if I throw enough Vitamin C, Zinc, tea and honey at this cold, it will diminish quickly and I can get back to working out. *not that this head cold was the cause, but it kept me from returning.
My scale is out of battery. Guess I had better pick up a new battery or I will not have that portion of my feedback available.
